Ms. Tami-Lynn Wilson is the 2024 - 2025 Club Year Volunteer of the year!
The Woman’s Club of Rock Hill selects one member per year as their Volunteer of the Year.
Tamilynn Wilson's life has been defined by kindness, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Growing up in Schenectady, NY, alongside her five siblings, she developed a strong sense of family and community that would shape her path for years to come.
For 35 years, she dedicated her career to the New York State Teachers' Retirement System, ensuring the security and well-being of countless educators. But beyond her professional life, her greatest role has been that of a devoted mother and grandmother. She raised two daughters with love and resilience and remains a pillar of support, always lending a helping hand with her three grandchildren—whether it's providing memorable vacations or stepping in whenever needed.
Tamilynn’s heart for service extends far beyond her family. She has passionately supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, participating in telethons and various fundraising efforts to aid children battling illness. For years, she also volunteered with the Girl Scouts, guiding young girls in building confidence, leadership, and essential life skills.
Her philanthropic spirit continues through her dedication to raising money annually for the Ovarian Cancer Teal Ribbon Walk, bringing awareness and support to those affected by the disease, including her sister Kim.
After relocating to the South, Tamilynn remained active in her community. She first joined the Women’s Club of Wilmington, NC, and later, upon moving to South Carolina, became an integral part of the Women’s Club of Rock Hill, where she continues to make a difference.
Additionally, her kindness was evident in the time she devoted to sitting with an elderly man, Wayne, who quickly became a dear friend, providing companionship and care in his later years.
With a heart full of generosity and a lifetime of service, Tamilynn Wilson exemplifies what it means to lead with love, compassion, and dedication.
