Volunteer of the Year

The Woman’s Club of Rock Hill selects one member per year as their Volunteer of the Year. 

The member chosen is a relatively new member.  Shortly after becoming a member, she became a member of the board of directors.  She chaired her first fundraiser in February, our Super Bowl Dips sale. 

Since joining the club, she has particpated in every fundraiser.  She is our self-appointed dishwaser at every Victorian Tea and has washed every dish in our home several times since joining. 

She is our Commnications Chairman.  She started our Instagram, TikTok, and Threads accounts and refreshed our website.  Our website won the GFWC-SC Website award for the 2022 and 2023 club year.   Our social media accounts have grown over 100% while she has been in this role. 

In addition to her club work, she also is the Communications and Public Relations Chairman for GFWC-SC.  She started the Instagram, TikTok, and Threads accounts for GFWC-SC.  She is a monthly contributer to the Pineapple Post, a GFWC-SC membership magazine and she helped with the creation of Tech Tidbits, a GFWC-SC award to clubs who grow technology skills in their members. 

Our volunteer of the year has been a member of the Leadership, Education, and Training Seminar (LEADS) for 2 years and has presented on Time Management through the use of technology and Time Management, Delegating, and Boundary Setting. 

Outside of her clubwork, our volunteer of the year is a teacher of students with disabilities and has been for 22 years.  She graduated from Winthrop University with a BA in History and a BS in Special Educaiton.  She earned her M. Ed. in Special Education. 

In addition to teaching, she owns a small business, TMM Carolinas, a business designed to help small business owners with their technology and social media needs and teaches one-on-one technology classes. 

She is an avid yogi and her yoga practice is what ultimately led her to the Woman’s Club of Rock Hill. 

She is an avid reader and has joined GFWC Episolon Siogma Omega (ESO). 

Last, but definately not least, she is the dog mom to very spoiled dogs, Maverick the Maltipoo and Cooper the Corgi.
