President  - Myrna Loy

Myrna Loy grew up in Maine and worked her entire 43 year career in the international shipping business. Throughout her career Myrna had the opportunity to live in numerous metropolitan areas including New York City, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and worked on long term project in Rotterdam and Shanghai.  She settled in Rock Hill in 2008 as a result of a transfer from a corporate office to the Charlotte operations office where she worked until her retirement in 2014.

Myrna joined the Woman’s Club of Rock Hill in February 2019 after several years of being an instructor for the 4H Sew Camp - sponsored by Clemson University and the Woman’s Club of Rock Hill. Upon joining the WCRH, she immediately involved herself in club activities and took on leadership roles of Rental Committee Chairman, chair of the Victorian Teas, chair of the Spring Brunch, chair of the Spring Teas and co-chair of the Environment Community Service Program.  Myrna has also served on several other club committees and has volunteered to help in club functions, projects, events and fundraisers since becoming a club member.

When not working for WCRH, she enjoys travel, cooking, entertaining, reading or listening to audible books, sewing, decorating, spending time with friends and family at her place on Lake Ontario, and she especially enjoys boating and fishing.  

Myrna is looking forward to the challenge of serving the club and the Rock Hill community as president during her 2022-2024 term and making many cherished memories with the exceptional WCRH members.  


1st Vice-President - Rhonda Garris

Rhonda Garris has been a member of the Woman's Club of Rock Hill since 2001.  She has served as chairperson of the Art Community Service Program (CSP) during several club years as well as International CSP chairperson. She has also served as recording secretary for the club. Additionally, she is a member of GFWC-York County where she has served as club president.  While working in Winnsboro, she served as a member of the Winnsboro Woman's Club.  

Rhonda is married to Ralph and lives in Great Falls. She has a son who lives in Charleston SC.     

Rhonda had a successful career as a a nurse for 35 years.  She retired 7 years ago and loves to  travel, love the arts, especially theater, all genres of music, snow skiing, yoga, and animals of all types, among other things. What she loves the most, however, is spending time connecting with old and new friends. As an only child, my friends are my family and I cherish long lunches, movie afternoons, and sipping wine at a local cafe. 

The friends she has made at woman’s club over the years are very special to her. Whether laughing at the sink washing dishes after the Victorian Teas, pulling up weeds behind the clubhouse, wrapping up Super Bowl dips, decorating the clubhouse for Christmas, ...all these activities are how  clubwomen become cherished friends. 


2nd Vice President - Membership -Nadja Chorak

Recording Secretary - Tracy Morzuch

Tracy was born and raised in South Carolina.  She attended schools in and graduated high school in Berkeley County.  She attended college at Winthrop University and graduated with a double major in History and Special education and obtained her M. Ed. in Special Education from Grand Canyon University.  She is currently a special education teacher with 22 years teaching experience and has taught in SC, NC, and WA.   


Tracy joined the Woman’s Club of Rock Hill in 2021 and was immediately asked to be the Communications Chairman.  To date, she has, or currently serves in the following roles:  


Tracy also serves General Federation of Woman's Club - South Carolina as the Communications and Public Relations Chairman and creates the content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.  She served on the LEADS 2023 committee. Tracy was one of the GFWC-SC members who participated in the development of Tech Tidbits, an award given to clubs who grow their technology skills.   She is a monthly contributor to the Pineapple Post, a monthly online GFWC-SC newsletter. 


When she is not teaching or fulfilling her volunteering responsibilities, Tracy is the dog mom of 2 spoiled dogs, Maverick the Maltipoo and Cooper the Corgi.  She is an avid yoga enthusiast and avid reader.  

Corresponding Secretary - Sandra Czentye

Sandra has been married to her husband Tibi for 41 years; has 2 grown children, Alex and, Chris, and 6 beautiful grandchildren: Joanna, Jillian, Xander, and Anderson (they belong to Alex and Julia), Sadie and Jackson (they belong to Chris and Ashley). Alex, his wife Julia and their 4 children live in Jacksonville, FL; Chris, his wife Ashley and their 2 children live in Rock Hill. Sandra was born in Romania and she lived there for 28 years. Her husband, Tibi, escaped from socialist Romania in 1989 and they came to US, under political asylum, in 1991 to eagerly start their new life here.

As her husband says they arrived with 2 kids, 2 pieces of luggage and God. They originally settled in California where they lived for 18 years and moved to Gods Country – South Carolina - in 2009.

They lived in Rock Hill until 2016, when they bought their dream house on Lake Wateree and moved out there. Once they accomplished the American dream, they started to give back to society by helping and volunteering in many ways.

They own their own company in Rock Hill, All Pro Solutions, where they manufacture data archiving equipment and provide numerous digital services; Sandra works there alongside her husband and son Alex.

When she’s not working, either at her job or in the Woman’s Club, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and the outdoors. However, she is happiest when she is with her husband, her family, and friends and building beautiful memories with her beloved grandchildren, all of whom she loves dearly.

Even though she works full time, she has been very active, participating in many club activities and fundraisers since she joined the club in 2010. When asked to bake or cook for the Victorian Teas, she always agrees to cover all three days and to serve in other ways on the days she is not working at her “real” job.

She and her husband sang as members of the Victorian Tea Carolers for many years.

She volunteered her sons to serve as bartenders for several of our annual Christmas parties.

She cheerfully agrees to take responsibility for making one type of the Super Bowl Super Dips. She never says “NO”!

She has held the Corresponding Secretary position since 2017. Creating the monthly newsletter, is a huge time commitment and a labor of love.

Her creative talents resulted in our club winning first place in the Newsletter Contest for our club category at the 2019 GFWC-SC Annual Convention.

She has also been Chair of the Bylaws Committee since March 2021

The friends she made at Woman’s Club over the years are very special to her and she holds them close to her heart. Sandra said she’s honored to continue to serve in her positions with the Woman’s Club and she’s looking forward to a new year of opportunities to help our community.

Treasurer/Budget Chair - Kathie Walker

Kathie E. Walker was born on November 25, 1950 in the middle of the “storm of the century” or the Appalachian Storm where 30 inches of snow fell on the city of Pittsburgh in 12 hours.  Her mother went to the hospital on a sled and Kathie’s arrival made the first page of the Pittsburgh Press as the 1st “Snow Baby” born during the storm.

 

Kathie grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa and upon graduation from St. Francis Academy High School; she attended the Franciscan University of Steubenville, majoring in Social Work.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972. 

On August 3, 1972 Kathie was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army and reported for active duty at Ft. McClellan, Alabama where she completed the Women’s Officer Basic Course.  In January, 1973, Kathie report to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina where she served in various positions until 1975.   On February 9, 1973 Kathie met her husband Captain Frank Walker of Rock Hill, SC during the “Blizzard of 1973” - the day that South Carolinians witnessed the biggest winter weather event to happen in the state. They were married in September, 1976 (no snow!).

In 1975, Kathie left Active Duty Service and joined the 108th Infantry Training Division in Charlotte, NC where she served in various positions culminating as the Commander of the 3398th Reception Battalion.  She retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Active Reserve in 1996. 

 

In 1981, Kathie received her Bachelor of Science degree from Winthrop University in Computer Science.  She joined Duke Energy Corporation in 1981 and held various positions in the Information Management area of the corporation until her retirement in May, 2011.

 

In her retirement, Kathie has been very active in the General Federation of Woman’s Clubs (GFGWC).  She is an active member of the Woman’s Club of Rock Hill where she has served as Treasurer, Second Vice-President (Membership), Publicity Co-Chair, and First Vice-President, and President.  She is also a founding member of the Woman’s Club of York County.  She has also served as the District President of the GFWC-SC North Central District. She served as the Treasurer of GFWC-SC and is currently as Special Assistant to GFWC-SC President Kristin Fields.  Kathie also volunteers as a sewing instructor for the York County 4H organization.  She has thoroughly enjoyed meeting the wonderful ladies of all of the GFWC Clubs who donate so unselfishly of their time and energy to make our communities a better place to live and work. In her spare time, Kathie enjoys snow skiing (of course!), sewing, upholstery, stained glass, glass fusion, Ocean Isle Beach, and Summerland Key, Florida.

 

 


Parliamentarian - Rosanna Saladin

Dr. Rosanna Saladin-Subero brings more than 20 years of experience in community and human development and social impact, which are areas that she is not only passionate about, but also heavily invested in.

Dr. Saladin came to the United States in August 2008 to pursue her PhD in International Families and Communities with a full scholarship from the Institute on Family and Neighborhood Life at Clemson University. Before arriving to the United States, Dr. Saladin completed her bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a full scholarship from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in Sant Domingo where she graduated Cum Laude; and completed her Master’s in Arts in Commerce fro Otaru University of Commerce in Japan also with a full scholarship.

She moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2010, to expand her professional opportunities. More recentl and during her tenure with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools District, Dr. Saladin’s strategic approac to engagement in education, achieved over $7 million dollars in partnership investment in 2021. Sh currently is the Associate Director for Business Development for FHI360, an international non-profit working in human development and global impact. She continues to be an agent of change in community, youth, and human development through volunteering and as an independent consultant.

Dr. Saladin-Subero has received several awards for her work in the Greater Charlotte Community, such as the 2012 SBA Minority Advocate of the Year, 2018 NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award from th Carolina Panthers and, most recently, the 2020 Latin American Excelente Award as Community Servic Person of the Year. She was inducted into the Cesar Chavez Hall of Fame as a 2016 recipient of the Cesar Chavez Latina Women in Education Leadership Award.

Past President - Shannon Smith

Shannon joined the Woman’s club of Rock Hill in 2012 and has served as:

Shannon was WCRH Volunteer of the Year for 2019.

Shannon serves on the GFWC-South Carolina (state) level as Secretary, in addition to her service to WCRH.  She has served as Fundraising Chair (2018-2020) and as Finance Chair (2020-2022).  She was 2020 GFWC SC LEADS representative and 2019 GFWC SC Volunteer of the Year.


Shannon was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC.  Her husband is Wayne and they have  of twin 29 year old sons, Chase and Cody, and a FABULOUS 3 year old grandson, Theodore.  She absolutely LOVES being a MiMi!  Her husband is a police officer (26 years and counting) and she is a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant and registered Yoga Instructor.  She is the proud owner of an outpatient physical therapy clinic that specializes in Pulmonary Rehab and a yoga studio.
