Monarch butterflies are one of nature’s most remarkable travelers, migrating thousands of miles each year across North America. Along the way, they depend on milkweed plants, which are the only host plants where monarchs lay their eggs and where their caterpillars can grow.
In recent years, monarch populations have faced significant challenges due to habitat loss and environmental changes. Planting milkweed and supporting pollinator-friendly spaces can help these beautiful butterflies continue their incredible journey for generations to come.
Events like Monarchs & Milkweed help raise awareness, encourage conservation, and bring our community together to celebrate the natural world around us.
For fourteen years, the Monarchs & Milkweed Seminar & Reception has been a meaningful tradition at the Woman’s Club of Rock Hill. Each spring, neighbors, families, and community partners gather to learn, reflect, and experience the beauty of monarch butterflies taking flight in our gardens.
What began as a small educational program has grown into a beloved community event that celebrates conservation, honors lives in our community, and brings people together in a spirit of reflection and hope.
Events like this reflect the mission of the Woman’s Club of Rock Hill: strengthening our community through education, service, and meaningful connection.
We hope you will join us for this special community tradition during the Come-See-Me Festival.
Whether you are passionate about pollinators, interested in learning more about monarch butterflies, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend an afternoon in Rock Hill, the Monarchs & Milkweed Seminar & Reception is a beautiful way to connect with neighbors and celebrate the natural world around us.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Woman’s Club gardens on April 16.
